Notes on Junius Wesley Binkley...

Graham , Mattie Binkley Reich's  son has supplied me with some stories on Junius Wesley Binkley.
He was known as a man of good charactor.
He was a 32nd degree Mason , a Sunday School Superintendent as well as a teacher and lay reader.
Graham relates that his grandfather Junius died at home.
He lived on the corner of Urban and Goldfloss streets on the south side of Winston-Salem.
Junius died of a cerebral hemorrhage. He was unconscious and Graham remembers his breathing being "rattling for several days.  Junius was embalmed at home because money was sparse.
His then widow, Lillie Weir Binkley was a fine well bred spinster who looked like the Actress Elizabeth Patterson.
Patterson  stared in Tobacco Road. Graham says  Patterson  played the role of Ada Lester, wife of Jeeter.
Graham goes on to related that he was proud of the fact that all the Reich boys graduated from High School as well as Aunt Bertha  Bullard three children   and  Ottis  Binkley's seven or eight children  in Pa.
