The Shallow Ford of the Yadkin River. 
Taken from the Yadkin County side and looking toward Forsyth.
It was the only site for many miles where a loaded wagon
could be driven across the Yadkin River.
This made it an important link in the famous Great Wagon Road.
Peter Binkley and Henrietta used this ford to reach the markets and stores of Winston and Salem.
John Binkley and wife Sarah would have done the same.
