 Christmas Is A Paradox
by Joan Estelle High
© Dec 16th 2005

Christmas is a paradox, that brightens up the winter scenes
But it is also a Pandora's box, as ghosts long past haunt our dreams.
They stand behind our reclining chair and  whisper memories in our ear.
We know that they are not really here, a sweet sad memory brings them near

We all have thing that we do regret, mistakes, we'd change if we but could
We all had friends that we have lost, our loved one who are gone for good.
We cannot change what is now past, it lies somewhere in the twilight zone
We have to live our lives in the Now, for the Future is still not set in stone.

We are building memories day by day, the current times will soon be the Past.
The Future is currently coming our way, for as they sometimes say "the die is cast"
So let's be jolly and sing songs of cheer , light our candles, decorate a Christmas tree
Drink some  eggnog and share joy with others, pass the Holiday spirit to all you see.
