Thought For The Day

My Comments on 1 Corinthians Chapter 13

This chapter says to me that what we think of as charity is something people do to win praise from other men. But unless we can truly care for the sick, homeless and sinners all our good deeds won’t add up to much. Some people who attend church regularly have learned to talk the talk but once they leave the church they don’t know how to walk the walk. Not many of  us can measure up to the description of love given in this chapter.
How often  have  we heard  people say I love you. The words sound hollow like they are made of brass. They love you as long as it doesn’t require any effort that would change something in their life. A mother who loves her child will give up eating to feed that child. first. But if the mother weights 300 pounds and her child is going hungry then she doesn’t love that child.  If a spouse says they love you but lust after every short skirt that parades on by. Then his heart is not committed and lustful thoughts soon turn to lustful deeds.
If a child says they love you but can’t be trust out of sight, If they insists on following the wrong path and disregard the values you have tried to teach them, how dare they say that  they love you.  But the love of God is a love we can count on it is ever lasting as He is ever lasting . He doesn’t always like our behavior. But he is patient though out all our spiritual child hood and adolescents. He gives us some rules for behavior and some guide lines to help guide though the difficult times.  Some times He say NO when we ask for things , because maybe that would bring more problems in to our lives. Just like we as good parents had to say no , when our child asks for things that were not good for them to have; But the good news in this chapter is that when worlds have passed away, languages are long forgotten,  then we count on the perfection that is God to descends upon us . Only  than we will have a clearer understand of how things really work.

My question is this hinting at our own chance for immortality. Will we be still be a individual person that can be recognized when this time comes?
