The Hebrews spoke of the the land of the departed spirits, Sheol they
called this place.
The Ancients believed in the Underworld, but the place had many
different names.
The Greeks wrote the history of the place called Hades, a site of ever
lasting flame.
They told how the god of the Nether world ruled this kingdom of such
dismal domain.
To reach this lower world inferno that lies beyond the grave, with
it's bottomless pits.
One most travel the dark road through Erebus, a land where the sun
chose not to shine.
Be ferried by Carion across the River Styx, that has flowed since
the dawn of time.
The mist comes up from Acheron and brings to mind our many sad memories
of woe.
But merciful the River Lethe, causes us to forget our pain, as we go
along it's flow.
Uranus children, the Titans lie deep beneath this regions as in Tartarus
they dwell.
They once themselves were gods of colossal strength but now they dwell
in Hell.
Their rebellious spirit and defiant behavior may have brought them
lasting fame.
But they got replaced by the newer gods and they got thrown down
in shame.
