Charlie Carter High was born in 1851 in Atlanta Ga. He died on 7-6-1938 in Eastland
County Tex. He was the son of Wiley Turner High and Mary Elizabeth Duke.
He married Elizabeth J. born 1952 in Alabama. She is on record
as dying in 1913 in Tex.
They had 2 girls that died young
On the 1900 Eastland County Census with Elizabeth and a boarder
Charley Mcamus age 17.
It is thought that this young man was considered Charles High's adopted
son.
On the 1910 Stephen County Census.
Lists Charles and Elizabeth J. plus a 15 year old niece,
L. Caldwell. There is a hired hand by the name of England R. Otto age 24.
His second wife was Callie Lee, They married about 1914. He and Callie
children were Fannie Ruth High born 1915 and Rufus Nell born 1920.

It is Callie, and the 2 girls. It appears they have been married for
17 or 19 years.

Born in Ga. moved to Texas at age 9.(1870 Titus
County Census)
He joined the Texas Ranger in 1874.
He was the first constable of Eastland Co. Tex. and the first blacksmith
there also.
He was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge in Cisco #281
He had several step children . Elmer, Annabell , Lois and Tressie.
After a fire wiped out his home he built a house on a farm north of
Cisco in Stephen County.
He was a member of the First Christian Church in Breckenridge Tx.
He lived to see his two grandchildren by his and Callie's daughter Fannie
Ruth High Stewart.
One grandchild was named Theresa..
