Martha  Ann High
She was  born 1821 in  Ga. and dies in Texas  March 23, 1881
She marries Asa Chapman and he dies in Jasper County Ga.
She then marries Wm. Gain Wise  called "Buck"  They married in 1851 in Jasper County Ga.
They move first to Pike County Ala. Then move with their relatives by boat to Jefferson Texas.
Moving  to Titus County Texas by 1860. They are on the 1860 Titus County Census  with the family of Wiley T. High , and family of Wm. and Sarah Goolsby. Martha is the head of the family by the 1870 Titus, Mt. Pleasant County Census. She was the mother of 9 children and helped raise 2 more of J.T. High and Lucy Chapman High James High is age 16 and John W. High is age 12 are living with her on the 1870 census.
Children of William Wise and Martha High:
 Robert J (Bob) Wise, ( Born 8-1-1852  Ga.  died  2-1-1936  Texas ) He marries Mollie Pratt (d/o Alfred A. Pratt and Sarah Allison) They had  5 children.   Aurilla, Ola, Willie, Rufus and James Leonard " Bud" Wise. .  Mollie died  October 12, 1932  They  lived in Bradford Chapel and  Hughes Springs, Texas.
Cynthia (1852 Ga. to 1919 Tex. .)  sometimes spelled with an "S" marries Dolph Sparks and they had 3 children,  Mary,  Herman and Will .  Cynthia died in 1919 in Texas
John Hugh (1855 Ala. -1939 Tex ) marries a  Delia Kilpatrick and has 1 child named Lila *( I have him as John W. on the 1870 census) All the children of John High have named  a son John W. So I think that the Hugh is a mistake. )They have 1 child named Lila.
Pollard B (1856   Ala.-1920 Texas .) marries Lizzie Apperson ( 1861) and they  had 7 children They lived in Hopkins County. 7 children  Anna Bertha,  Francis Elbert, Pollard B, Vella B., John H.,  M. Smith and  Lizzie Vernon .
Pollard  died in 1920 and is buried in Hopkins County, Tex.
James A (1859 Ala -1932 Tx .) marries Mattie Ragland and they had 10 children. Children were Rebecca, Daisy, Clyde, Marvin, Wayne, Blaine , George, Julia Cleveland, and Morris
Sarah Jane , also known as "Sallie" (1860 Texas -1942 Tex. ) marries Thigpen and they have 4 children. Robert, Emily, Ack and Fed.
William C (1862 Tex. -1946 Tex.) marries Sally Stacy and has 5 children
Amos, Georgia, Ray, Georgia and May.  They lived in Hughes Springs.
Martha Polk (1863 Tex. -1889 Tex.) also called "Malissa, married, James Wallace. They had  7 children, Georgia, Clevia, Geneva, Fannie, Viola, James P. and Martha.
Andrew G. ( 1868 Tex- 1944, Tex..) marries twice, first a  Ida Bach with whom he has 2 children Pollard and Pearl. He  then marries Eva Truitt with whom he has 6 more. Annie , Ellie, Junie, Tom, Aubie and Nellie Mae   He is listed born in 1868 but he is not on the 1870 Census with Martha Wise. He is buried in Louisiana.
 Martha  Wise  is buried at Harris Chapel but her marker is gone.
Her husband  William Wise's marker  is still readable. Buck died March 9,  1870
