I sent for these records from the Archives but they said very
little
Private High was in Capt Evans Co. Cadet Rifle Man of Hoxey's Batt., Ga.
He enrolled June 1 1836 and Mustered out Sept 2, 1836. He joined at
Columbus
Ga.
He and Mary Elizabeth Duke are married also in 1838 in Jasper
County Ga. He dies in Ala after 1855 (Based on birth date of last child)
Mary Duke High is first found in Texas on the Titus County Texas Census of 1860,
Son Joseph is listed as being born in Miss in 1855 but no records
existed
after Titus County.
She then migrates to Crockett area in Houston County, She lives
with her son Henry High and his family. Wiley and his sister
Sarah
marry the same year 1838 in Jasper County Ga. But I don't find his
records
listed. I sent a request to the Jasper County Count house but they
returned
no information on Wiley Turner High.
Information on Stephen F. High 1870 will be found
under his father's page
