Line Upon Line

A little child once to his mother said,

"Mother how does God know when we are bad?"

Mother replied with a smile in her eyes,

To a little round face so sad.

"It is written in the book of life, dear child of mine,

Everything we do, line upon line..

A little child once to his mother replied,

"How does God know when we have lied?"

Mother said softly to her little one,

"It's written in the book, that God keeps above.

All of our hates, our fears and our love."

Yes said the mother, it is true you will find

Our lives are written in the book,  line upon line.

Remember kind thoughts are never wasted.

Nor any kind deeds, that are done.

It's all written in God's book  my dear little son.

It is written in the  book line , one by one..
