| I am getting some interesting political e-mail,
Sometimes , some things , being sent out are pretty outlandish. So I have to wonder who are these anonymous writers and what is their agenda. If I don’t know that the statements made have any validity, I don’t’ forward them. If the subject matter interest me I do a search on the internet. Otherwise I just file it away. Sometimes It becomes the basis for a letter for my web site.. But first I try to read different points of view from all over to help me decide if there is any truth in the mail. My opinions are not always political correct. But at least you can know that I don’t get paid to spread somebody's else's propaganda. My opinion is just that, an opinion of this old lady. |
| There is a lot of information available on the”
information highway” but we have to be careful that we don’t take everything written as the gospel truth. My father always said not to believe anything you hear nor half what you read. Many times we find out that the” Press” sometimes doesn’t tell the truth Or they have slanted the story to what conclusion they are hoping to promote. Some information contained is just to distract us from real issues |
| This week I got a long e-mail putting Mr.
Obama as the subject. He is at the center of a lot of e-mail. Same old stuff that has been going around since he took office. I had read of the flag pin, the pledge of allegiance, his personal background record erased or hidden, the trip to Pakistan. his birth records etc. That is re-hashed old news. They add in the cast of friends, associates, pastors etc. He certainly has had a broad spectrum of weird, brilliant, colorful, sinister, unusual contacts. Makes you wonder just who this man is anyway! It is known that he was born to a Muslim father , raised by a Muslin stepfather and educated in his early years as a Muslin. That does not necessary make him a Moslem. I was born to a Catholic father, educated in Catholic schools but have not been a practicing Catholic in 60 years. |

| John Holdren
I also read some on John Holdren , who 32 years ago had some extreme thoughts on how to cure the over population of the world by forced abortions and mass sterilization and adopting out children born to un-wed single mothers. I have to agree that something needs to be done about our population explosion and that the world is running out of clean water and decent food to support an endless hoard of babies. Most babies are not born to educated, prosperous parents who can and will take care of them. Most babies being born today , come into this world , are coming to live in poverty, abuse, and lack They have little or no chance to get their basic needs met , It has always puzzled me that some poor women, starving in Africa or third world is still having babies, while educated well to do females have to pay somebody to help them get pregnant. Something is wrong with this system. I would put birth control in the village water, if it would save some little baby from slowing starving to death after he got here. |
| Abortions
I personally don’t believe in abortions when used for birth control, Exception would be, in cases of rape or incest. or danger to the mother. I don’t think a 9 year old girl, raped by relative should have to carry a child for 9 months. But I would not ban abortions or force abortions either one. I believe it is an individual personal choice. Forced sterilization has been tried in our past history. I think it is North Carolina who is trying to find the thousands of people, mostly minorities and women who they forced sterilization on. Now they are going to pay them compensation. Most women can have a limited number of children, nature cuts off her child bearing ability (except for women in Arkansas) but men can father lots of children most of their life They are the ones that need birth control. It is also my opinion, that men should not have a dam say in abortion laws either way. They cause the problem and many don’t stay around to take responsibility for the results. When they start having the babies then I will listen to their input on the subject. It is hoped that Mr. Holdren has modified his views as he is working in Washington as a "Science Czar. " |
| One Scary Man The one that scares me most is a Cass Sunstein. I can accept his concern for animals. Even animals have the right not to be mistreated. That I can support within reason. As for hunting, I am not keen on hunting animals. However in this world we may need to to learn how to live off the land to survive. Not everybody is designed to be a vegetarian. How else to explain the bodies need for B12 in our diet. But killing needs to be done with the least amount of pain to the animal. Our slaughter houses are a disgrace. Using intelligent animals for painful research is wrong. Deliberate hurting a living creature unless they are trying to harm you is morally wrong. Where this man loses me is with some of his other ideas. Harvest organs without permission from next of kin, really? I hope he means after the person is dead. What I find more troubling is Infiltrating the internet, chat rooms and blogs, Putting under cover operators in them to catch people expressing their opinion. Censorship, Freedom of Speech denied, Executive power abuse, ( Which needs to be stopped ) civil liberties, gun control. This is a man to watch. |
Blame Game
The list is too long to cover but the general idea is that it is a laundry list of what is wrong with our current president. They are blaming Mr. Obama for everything that is wrong in the world. Personally, I think the there is enough blame to go around. Congress Our self- serving, Congress need some of the blame They are populated with people who are trying to see how much they can enrich their own pocketbooks. They all should have to live by the rules they set up for us. They should serve one term and then be sent home. Then no pensions would be needed. They would be under Social Security and have the same health insurance available to the general public. Throw out that huge book on tax rates for individuals and corporations. Corporation should be taxed on their profits by the same percent that individual are. They can deduct necessary expense but caps would be put on executive salary, as a multiple of what their lowest worker is paid. They should be taxed for doing business in this country , and putting their offices in other countries to escape paying taxes. For individuals the only deduction allowed would be the poverty level figure for your size family. First list all income, subtract the figure used as Poverty for your size family, multiply by 20 percent . That should only take only a few lines on a post card. Count all income earned or investment at the same rate Reduce combined Social Security and Medicare taxes to 10 percent but tax the first million. Bet we would see minimum wages and the poverty rate changes if people in congress could only use the poverty level as their only deduction. No deduction for the mansion on the hill or second vacation homes. This country is only as strong as the individual family and members are strong That means the same level of care to its poorest people. no matter what state they live in. As they build the tools for upper mobility in their jobs and finances. Government can’t be all things to all people. We all are entitled to access to basic needs in our lives. Food, clean water, utilities at a reasonable cost, shelter we can afford and feel safe in, access to medicine and medical care, basic education for ourselves and children. Bring our troops home and let them secure our borders and guard our air spaces. that's all for today. Thanks for stopping in. send letters to thecrystallady@hotmail.com.
