Thought For The Day

Healing

Today  my thoughts for today are about healing.
Thought I would take a look into the King James Bible
and see what the good book had to say to those of us who are ailing today.

First mentions of healing I found
was that of Moses was praying for his sister Miriam to be healed
 of what appeared to be leprosy. No help there for today .
 God said for her to leave the camp for seven days and then come back.
I did not find any more later information on her.
 Rest of numbers tells the story with Moses and Aaron.

Then, in Psalms Chapter 6, we hear David calling out to God"
 Have mercy on me, O Lord , for I am weak,
O Lord
, heal me for my bones are vexed".
 Many of us senior citizen can understand David
because we too have days when our bones are vexed.

Later David acknowledges Gods holy name. Psalms 103
 "Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name.
Bless the Lord, O my soul and forget not all His benefits.
Who forgives all thine iniquities, who heals all thy diseases."
That’s encouraging , even today.
Who of us doesn’t need forgiveness and healing.

One of my favorite saying when I am feeling under the weather
comes from Isaiah Chapter 53 Verse 3

. Although is before Christ's time on earth
 it has always seem to be talking of Jesus of Nazareth.
Like some one was looking a head to the future
and describing He who was to come.

"He is despised and rejected of men, a man of sorrows,
and acquainted with grief
and we hid as it were our faces from him,
He was despised and we esteemed him not.
 Surely He hath borne our grief's , and carried our sorrows;
yet we did not esteem him, stricken, smitten of God and afflicted.
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities;
the chastisement of our peace was upon him,
 and with his stripes we are healed."

That same words "By whose stripes we were healed "is mention again
in the new testament under ,1 Peter Chapter 2 verse 25.
