The Tree In The Yard

Over in the back yard by an ancient stone wall.
Stands a beautiful tree, so sturdy, fair and tall.
Reaching wide as it the whole world to embrace.
And spread it beauty to all the human race.
Wish I were like that tree and everyday in harmony,
I would grow to be that much closer Lord to Thee.
Then at the new found morning's break of day.
I could lift my green lead covered arms to pray.
In the cool evening, as the sunlight fades away.
I cross my limbs that in the gentle breezes sway.
I would say a prayer to make the future bright.
Bow my leafy head and sleep gently in the night.
