WHAT IS AN ANGEL ?
According to my dictionary, Angels are immortal spiritual beings.
They don't have physical body in the sense that we do,
But they can assume various shapes at will.
They have often appeared to humans as men.
Being immortal they do not have a eternal nature such as God .
There are stories and legions where by Angels have been destroyed by
Some have turned in demons and some have become "fallen angels"
DO HUMANS EVER BECOME ANGELS
We often speak of our dearly departed becoming an " Angel".
However there are only a few records of humans becoming angels.
One story tells that the prophet Enoch became "Metatron"
Called the heavenly scribe he is credited with" Book of Enoch."
This book tells about the heavens and hell, and
The Book of Enoch was considered important by early church scholars.
The book was classified as Apocryphal and as such
was not included in the cannon that became our Bible.
The Bible says that Enoch walked with God and he was not for God took
The Patriarch Jacob was said to have become Uriel.
The Prophet Elijah went to heaven in a fiery chariot and is known as
the Angel "Sandalphon".
In more modern times, St. Frances is said to have become the Angel
IDEAS OF ANGELS.
Our concept of angels came originally from the Persians.
It was passed on to the Babylonian .
then to the Hebrews and flowed down to the Christians.
Even the Moslems take their ideas about Angels
from Hebrew and Christians sources.
While Christianity hold with the idea that all Angels were created
at once at the time of creation.
Hebrew scholars hold with the idea of continuous creation.
That new stars as well as Angels are being created with every breath
that God breaths.
The Jews believe that God spoke Hebrew and thus so do all of His Angels.
Mankind was suppose to have spoken Hebrew up until the incident of
the tower of Babel.
