Byrnes Families of Baltimore

If you are researching the various Byrnes families of Baltimore Md. you will
find that they may have different spelling for the same family at different times.
The records may vary from Burns to Burnes or Byrne to Byrnes. Even Bryn
is sometimes used.  So far they all seem to be from Ireland or Scotland.
So far my Byrnes family is a work in progress. Thanks to a distant Byrnes' cousin
I have begin  to make in- roads on my paternal side of the family. It is just a matter
of time before records come rolling in. As they do we will up date this page.

the Byrnes that came from Ireland in the early 1800 and stayed in Baltimore

Estella   name is sometimes wrote as Estelle
 and she is called Stella sometimes by her family. 
She was  born in Baltimore into a large Irish family. 

She was the daughter of Michael and Alice Byrnes
Although her parents were born in Baltimore
 the earlier generations  had come from Ireland.

Records can be found on the 1900 and 1910 census for Baltimore.

On 1900 she is on the federal census for Baltimore Ward 10
with parents and her brothers and sisters.

In 1910 her and brother Michael worked as weavers in a mill.
Later Michael  V. and his wife own a tavern in Baltimore

She married Albert Klerlein sr. before 1912
and they had 3 children, Albert, Joseph and Paul.

 Son Albert married and had 4 children, Joseph died in 1980 no known children,
and Paul left descendents.

In 1918 Albert Sr.  lists a wife and two children on his draft registration
and says he has been in the hospital and unemployed.


Estelle died in 1931 at Sinai hospital of a Menningitis infection.
She was still married to Albert Klerlein according to death records.
Her death information is furnished by her sister Mary Jendrek wife of Edward.

Her occupation at that time was as a usher at the Maryland Theatre.
She was buried at  Cathedral Cemetery in 1931 in an unmarked grave.
Estella lived at 1610 W. Fayette at time of her death.
