Loose Lips  and Sinking  Ships

There used to be a saying that "loose lips sink ships"
Well recently that proved true when Don Imus’ loose lips sunk his ship.
In his case more of a garbage scow.

He was so busy trying to be cool that he forgot to set the cut off value between his brains and his mouth.  By the time he had heard what he had said , it was the shot fired around the world.

Don’t know what made people more angry with him , the nappy haired part or the "Ho" part.

Talk about being politically incorrect, his remarks rang the gong.
Manage to offend both blacks and women plus  he also insulted some fine  educated black women who are both young and in good shape.  Something that Don Imus is no longer.
They should have taken one look at this old man and laughed in his face.
They have it going on ! and a  bright future is still ahead of them.
What Don Imus said  can’t change what and who they are.

I don’t think he spoke with malice but it was hurtful non the least.
Having said that he was out of line, I want also to say that it was much ado about nothing much.

If and when the thought police and the language cops clean up the smut and filthy language of the performers that is going out across the county, then the cries of outrage will seem more appropriate.

I feel for the black women in this county who are so badly treated by their own race of men. These same young men had mothers and grandmothers that stood by them
and did their best to support their families and raise them in churches.  And lots of times as a single parent,

What they write and say is an  indication of the lack of respect they have for their women.
That  must  make some of  their mother  very sad.  If black men can not treat their women with respect why should it shock them that a white man doesn’t either.
Black performers don’t speak for the black community and Don Imus doesn’t speak for the white people .

Mr. Imus has made a good living by being rude and out spoken.
I have not heard him in years but apparently you don’t want to ask Mr. Imus a question
or tune in to him unless you are willing to be shocked.

But he is also a man that cares deeply for other and has devoted a lot of time and effort to raise a obscene amount of money to help various charities he is associated with.

So don’t throw the baby out with the dirty bath water.

He is a little rude and sometime crude but his good work does balance him out a great deal. And if God is looking down into this man’s heart he probably knows that Mr. Imus is a work in progress.
Just like the rest of us are.
