Lets Talk About Iran

Well here we go again , guess who is back in the news." Iran" , formerly the country known as Persia.
One of the oldest and richest cultures in the history of the world.  Once the melting pot of the world.
Today it is known as one of the countries with the biggest oil deposits.

Was the home of the religion known as Zoroastrian. From whom the Christians got the ideas of angels, heaven and hell and struggle between good and evil. Not to mention the 3 kings in the Bible story of the birth of Jesus. Islam replaced Zoroastrian as the Iranian state religion in the 7th century and there are not many followers of Zoroastrian today.

Okay let see if I understand what happened that caused the latest incident. There was a U.N. force in the Persian Gulf searching boats looking for smugglers. The British say that they were in Iraq waters and the Iranians claim that the British or U.N. were in their territorial waters. I don’t know how exactly the British naval crew were taken prisoners were captured but they are in Iranian hands. There was some talk of releasing the one female member of the crew but apparently the Iranian had a second thought.

Of course the first hint of trouble in the area the oil prices start going up. Latest is about $66.55 a barrel about the highest since sometime in 2006.Could it be that the world knows we are stretched to our limits with our military in Iraq and Afghanistan, so it is okay to disrespect us, our allies and world opinion.  Iraq and Iran have had a history of problems between their countries.
Is this a case like the saying that the enemy of my people is now my friend or some thing like that.
Or maybe it is a juvenile attempt to show off to the other Arab countries that they are tough and not afraid of the big bad counties in the West.

(We should go back to the moon and take some of the big mouthed politician from around the world.
Build  them a boxing ring and let them go at it. )
