This Too Will Pass

I" m no stranger to pain, be it run away emotion, physical or mental
Some times pain can seem a lot to bear , or just quite incidental
I’ve known the pain of a broken heart when a lover has gone astray
And felt the joy that follows child birth when the pain has gone away.

I’ve known the pain of an aching back first thing in the morning light.
Wore out from tending a sick child who had fever during the night.
Arthritis , Rheumatism and some Gout came calling as I grew older.
I learned to live with a lot of pain as the winter nights grew colder.

Dampness made my knees hurt and at times I found it hard to bend.
But sometimes a warning pain turned out to be surprisingly my friend.
Don’t expect your life to be free from hurt , disappointment or pain.
At times we get a lot of sunshine in our life but we also get some rain.

Something that causes our heart to break , helps us define our goals
Our bodies are only the houses we live in here, as we are really souls.
Mental anguish is painful and sometimes can be the worst type of pain
Worrying so much about mundane things could surely drive us insane.

We soon find out that life seems to balances out the good with the bad.
We can better appreciate the laughter more, after being down and sad.
We wouldn't get any rainbows if we never had a storm and then  rain.
The tides come in and then it turns around and  it flow back out again.

So the next time that life comes along and knocks you on your "ass"
Just say to your self, "Hang On", and know that this too will pass.
